Matchbook is a wingperson app: people with accounts (“wingpeople”) create profiles for their single friends and make introductions. This policy explains what we collect from each kind of person who touches Matchbook, why, and how to get it deleted. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to make introductions work, we don’t run ads, and we don’t sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Profiles are created by your friend, and Matchbook only serves a profile after your friend confirms you know you’re on it. Your profile page is reachable only by an unguessable secret link that your friend chooses who to share with. It is never listed, searchable, or indexed. If you want off anyway, tell us and we’ll remove the profile, or ask your friend to delete it (removal is instant and also permanently ends any chats).
Chats are account-free. We store the messages you send so the other person can read them, and nothing else about you: no name, no phone number, no account. Access is through your secret link alone. Either person can type STOP (or tap End chat) to end the chat permanently. The wingperson who made the introduction can never read your messages.
Data is stored with Supabase (database, authentication, and photo storage) and the web pages are served by Netlify. Push notifications are delivered through Expo and Apple. These providers process data on our behalf and can’t use it for their own purposes.
Matchbook is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and every profile on a roster must be of someone 18 or older.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU or California), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or erase your personal data. Email us and we’ll honor them, no forms, no fuss.
